How to Reset a Dodge Check Engine Light
The correct way to reset the MIL on any Dodge vehicle is to repair the fault and clear the codes with an OBD-II scanner. Steps:
- Scan the PCM/TCM, record DTCs and freeze-frame data.
- Diagnose and fix the underlying cause (misfire, EVAP leak, sensor failure, etc.).
- Verify that fuel trims, O2 sensors and misfire counters have normalized.
- Use your scan tool’s clear function (Mode $04$) to reset the MIL.
- Drive 30–50 miles of mixed city/highway so readiness monitors return to “complete.”
