Dodge Dakota Check Engine Light Codes
The Dakota’s PCM stores codes whenever a subsystem fails to meet expected values. Common trouble areas include ignition (P030x), EVAP (P0440/P0456), O2 sensors (P013x/P015x) and transmission requests (P0700). Use an OBD-II scanner to retrieve the exact code, follow factory diagnostics, repair the fault, and clear the MIL with the scan tool.
Always capture freeze-frame data before clearing the light, and run a drive cycle afterward so readiness monitors return to “complete.”
